Every copy for sale on CartCat is pinned to an exact release: the right platform, region and edition, down to the product code. You pay CartCat, the seller posts it to you, and the seller isn't paid until it's on its way and has had a chance to arrive.
1. Find the copy
Search for the game, then pick the release you want: a PAL copy, an NTSC-J one, a Platinum reprint. The release page lists every copy for sale, with what's in the box (disc or cartridge, case, manual) and the condition of each part, so "Complete" means the same thing on every listing.
The chart on the same page shows what that release has really sold for, recently, on eBay and on CartCat. Copies that look like a good price against those sales are marked.
Listings on eBay may show beside CartCat's. Those are bought on eBay, under eBay's rules, not through CartCat.
2. Make an offer, or buy it now
Some sellers accept offers. Make one, and the seller can accept, decline or counter once. An accepted offer is a deal: the copy is yours at that price if you pay for it.
3. Pay
Prices are in Australian dollars. If you've chosen another display currency, you'll see an estimate marked ≈, but you're always charged in the listing's currency. Your bank may convert it at its own rate.
At checkout you see the item, the postage to your country and the total before you pay. Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your card details go straight to Stripe; CartCat never sees them.
The copy is reserved for you the moment you pay, so nobody else can buy it from under you. A cart with copies from two sellers is two payments, one per seller.
There's no fee for buying. Sellers pay CartCat a fee out of the price.
4. The seller posts it
The seller has 4 days to post it and add tracking. We follow the parcel with the carrier and email you as it moves.
Changed your mind? You can cancel within one hour of paying, if it hasn't been posted. After that, message the seller.
If it isn't posted 7 days after the seller's deadline, the order is cancelled and you're refunded in full, automatically.
5. It arrives
Check it against the listing. If it's right, press It arrived as described on the order: that pays the seller straight away. If you don't, the seller is paid 72 hours after the carrier says it was delivered.
Then leave feedback. It's how the next buyer knows who to trust.
6. If something's wrong
Press Report a problem on the order. The seller's payment is held the moment you do, and a person at CartCat looks at it. If the copy didn't arrive or isn't as described, you get your money back. The Buyer protection page has the details.
Questions
Do I need an account? To buy, yes, so you can follow your order and report a problem. You don't need one to browse or look at prices.
Who am I buying from? Another collector, usually. Their page shows their feedback and everything else they're selling. Copies that CartCat sells itself (games bought through Quicksell) say so.
Can I pay the seller directly? No, and please don't. A payment outside CartCat isn't covered by buyer protection. If a seller asks, tell us.
Do you ship overseas? Sellers are in Australia for now, and each listing shows where the seller will post to and what it costs.
What can't be sold here? Reproductions, bootlegs and a few other things: see Prohibited items.
